Chapter 3. Usage

We will cover a brief tour on how to use TrackTime to manage and organize your work.

Component params

Before starting using Tracktime, you should set the component params. On the Dashboard view, click on the Options button. A modal window should show up.

1. Download ID

If you purchased a pro version, insert here your Download ID to enable automatic updates.

2. Default hour cost

It's the default hourly charge. If you fill this field, every time you start a new project Tracktime will suggest this value as hourly cost.

3. Currency

The currency simbol you're using (ie €, $ and so on)

4. Deadline colors

You can assign a color for every project that's getting close to the deadline, so it will get colored in the project list. You should enter a line for each range, using this syntax:

<days to the deadline>|<hex code without #>

For example, if you add the lines reported in the screen above, a project that ends tomorrow will have a #FE4747 color, while a project ending in 1-3 days will have a #F5AB49 one and so on.

If the project deadline is far away (ie 20 days), or there isn't one, the project will get no color.

5. Hour stack color

You can assign a color for every hour stack that's getting close to the limit, so it will get colored in the hour stack list. You should enter a line for each range, using this syntax:

<percentage>|<hex code without #>

For example, if you add the lines reported in the screen above, an hour stack used more than 90% will have a #FE4747 color, while a stack used between 75%-90% will have a #F5AB49 one.
