#362 – After migration no activities visible

I'm migrating my website from 2.5 to 3.3.
I've managed to import all the data from the database tables into the new version after updating and all the data has been successfully transferred.
I can see the customers and their linked projects and stack hours where entered. What I can't see are all the activities. They are not visible at all, not when I select the tab "Activities" or when I go to a customer >> peoject >> activities.

Any ideas on this?

Hello David,

how did you migrated your site?
Did you updated the old site from 2.5 to 3.3 or you created a new 3.3 site and then transferred the whole contents?

I created a new site, but I exported the tracktime tables and imported them into the new database.

The problem is that Joomla users will have a different id; since Activities are linked to Joomla users (the Assigned To field), that's why you can't see them.

In order to see them again, you have to manually run a query in you site, setting the field tr_assigned_to of the table #__tracktime_trackers to a "generic" user.

Can you do that or do you want me to write the update statement?

FYI It's never a good idea exporting/importing stuff: every extension that is using Joomla users will break, since a new starting id is generated every time you create a new site, leading to a different set of user id.

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation and the tip.
In the old site, I only had one user - me. As you point out, in the new site I do have a different ID.

The old ID was 202 and the new one is 707. I guess the simplest would be to change my ID to the old one, then I won't have to change anything on the various sites I'm tracking?

Yes, I would be very grateful if you could write the relevant SQL line so that I can change that. .
